Ken Sexsmith

The Reconnect Roadshow traveled to 55 Sunset in Issaquah this week, where I had the chance to catch up with former client and current superstar Ken Sexsmith. Ken is Senior Director of Security Education, Awareness and Training at Microsoft where he and his team promote Microsoft’s security initiatives that help all Microsoft employees get smart and stay vigilant to keep their data, privacy, and customer information safe. Oh, Ken is also Chief of Staff of Microsoft's Digital, Security & Resilience engineering organization. So, yeah, he’s whip smart and spinning a bunch of very important plates very well.

Ken also has a great family, he’s an active listener, he leans in and cares about you and how to make things better. We chatted about work, life, family, pianos, birth order, zero trust, our background with Avaya, and how to keep a successful franchise fresh over time (hint: don’t wait for the dip to start rethinking things).

I walked away reminded of Ken’s kindness and newly enlightened about his rare combination of visionary thinking and Six Sigma Black Belt-certified process acumen. It’s something else. Ken is a powerhouse who has already accomplished a lifetime of great work, and it feels like he’s just getting started.
