Lisa Illingworth
One of the finest people I know and a terrifically talented people development leader is Lisa Illingworth. She was director of People Development at GLG for many years and is the best I’ve seen at navigating the sensitive waters of culture, HR, senior leadership, and employee advocacy. Lisa is also a strong cyclist who was a member of our epic GLG Seattle-to-Portland cycling teams that did the 204-mile STP ride in a day twice. Lisa wears LG-branded cycling shorts, so my running joke with her is mentioning that fact, much to her chagrin. It always struck me as funny that LG thought to put their logo on the back end of their cycling shorts. I’m not sure anyone wants to have the abbreviation for large labeling on their backside, but Lisa is a good sport whenever I give her a good-natured ribbing about it.
Lisa is living large, at the very least. She’s one of those people who seems to have it all; great family, great perspective, great social media poster, and terrific at her job. When I sought out people to connect with on my reconnect roadshow, Lisa was first call. We met at Saint Bread on Seattle’s Lake Union waterfront. Here’s the LinkedIn post.
“If being an If developing great relationships is a key to success, few do it better than Lisa Illingworth. Her people skills and instinct for how to help others have always been an inspiration. I was lucky enough to catch up with Lisa to learn how she is currently connecting growing companies with super talented folks through The Watts Group, an Executive Recruiting Firm.
